PROFILE
Laura was born in Melbourne, Australia and educated in Wiltshire, England and Boston, America, before moving to New York City. There she broke into the wonderful worlds of film and journalism and fell
madly in love - with the city and cinema that is.
While in the States, Laura wrote for Filmmaker Magazine, indieWIRE, RES
Magazine and various other publications. She reviewed films, profiled
filmmakers and covered festivals such as Sundance, The Hamptons, New York
Underground, LA Indie Fest and more.
After whirling through Cannes, London and the Edinburgh festivals, Laura
moved to London and threw herself into film production. Whilst working in
various developmental and production roles, she continued to write and was
published in The Face, Total Film, Neon and Reel Scene, to name a few.
Laura's engaging personality and passion for film soon lead to her doing on
camera interviews. As a presenter, she covered film festivals and awards
ceremonies where her confident but relaxed style proved popular.
She has worked alongside some brilliant filmmakers, such as Director Martha
Fiennes and Producer Norma Heyman, on a variety of features such as "Mrs
Henderson Presents" (Director: Stephen Frears, Cast: Judie Dench, Bob
Hoskins, Kelly Reilly) to "Chromophobia" (Director: Martha Fiennes, Cast:
Penelope Cruz, Rhys Ifans, Kristin Scott Thomas, Ralph Fiennes - soon to be
released).
Laura has done a wide range of interviews, such as on set for feature EPKs
and at the BIFAs, working with brands such as Canon and Tiscali.
She was Creative Director for the LA based online studio Filmaka.com in
2008 and 2009. After that she travelled to India where she worked at the
Jaipur Literature Festival and has since helped at the Melbourne Film
Festival in her home town.
Laura is now working on a feature film screenplay and various Legacy
projects. For more details, shoot her an email.
